About Us

Peggy began her career in the beauty industry in 1996 by completing body sugaring classes and then opening a body sugaring and nail salon called Body Beauty. After that, she decided to further her education, and in 2002, she attended the European School of Esthetics in Winnipeg, graduating with Honors from the Nail Technology program. Peggy took a special interest in gel nail enhancements, and dedicated her time to improving her skills in this area of expertise. In 2004, disappointed by the lack of products and support available in Winnipeg, Peggy decided to become an educator and distributor for Akzentz Nail Products. From this decision, Nail Workz was born.

Through the years, Peggy has furthered her skills by entering in a variety of North American Nail competitions. In 2002, she placed third in the Skills Manitoba Nail Art competition, and second in “A Show of Hands”. In 2010, she placed fourth at the Premiere Orlando International Beauty Event in the Novice Mixed Media Category. For several years Peggy has also been a Judge and on the planning committee for Skills Manitoba, and has served as a Judge for the Winnipeg Allied Beauty Association Competitions.

Peggy is constantly researching a vast array of product lines, bringing you only the products she can trust. She prefers to search for products locally, within Canada and the US before looking overseas. Peggy continues to travel across North America learning from the best in the industry in order to bring that knowledge to clients and staff at Nail Workz.

In 2005, Alaina graduated with Honors from the Miles Macdonnel Nail Technology program in Winnipeg. While attaining her certification, she entered the Skills Manitoba competition for Nail Technology, placing second. After graduation, she continued to develop her passion for the industry and gained experience working as a nail technician in Winnipeg and later in Edmonton.

Through this experience, Alaina was introduced to Akzentz gel and it quickly became her preference. Using this product, she built a loyal clientele, primarily applying gel nails and hand-painted nail art. Alaina is committed to achieving the highest level of professional development and in 2007, she successfully completed the Sugar of The Nile body-sugaring program and later the JB Cosmetics Eye Lash Extension training.

In 2011, Alaina travelled to Toronto with Peggy to attend the internationally award winning VivCat Design Class. Alaina is excited to be working along-side her mentor, Peggy at Nail Workz, and looks forward to developing her skills and educating others on their path to creativity.

In 2010, Breanne graduated with Honors from the Nail Technician program from Giselle’s School of Aesthetics and is excited to begin her career in the beauty industry. She is a friendly, personable and motivated individual with experience in sales, marketing and the service industry.

In addition to Nail Workz, Breanne is working at Pelo Loco Salon and Spa doing manicures, pedicures and gel nails. She is passionate about her craft, and continues her education by attending gel training courses, which only fuels her obsession with gel nails. She loves trying new nail art techniques and encouraging clients to step out of their comfort zone. With her strong passion for educating others, Breanne has a bright future with Nail Workz.
